SAF 2014 : CLOSING CEREMONY

Stamp a faire 2014 with Papertrey Ink was simply amazing.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart  for a wonderful weekend. I have never enjoyed crafting so much. I have been enthralled with each and every era. Each one I took my time to complete and thoroughly enjoyed every moment. The videos, music and wonderful inspiration posts were superb.
I have just finished my projects, tidied up and taken final photos. I am a little sad now that it has come to an end. Stamp a faire is a special time of year. Maybe it should be a World Holiday ! Now that I am finished I will go and look at all the wonderful work created by my crafting buddies around the world and catch up on all the wonderful chat on the forum.

Papertrey Ink you are the BEST !

SAF 2014 : TIME AFTER TIME

This challenge was to find an old card and remake it using the techniques learnt since then. I know when I started to make cards I had no idea where to go to learn. Peel off's , oh how I thought they were just great. I had a big folder and every card had a peel off and a rhinestone. Any old cards I got rid of. The only person who might have kept one is my Mum !  However I did find the card on the left. I actually found a bundle of twelve of them. I remember I planned to make note cards with them but somehow they got stuck at the back of a drawer. I made my card on my right today using the stamps and dies from the SAF 2014 kit. I made my own patterned paper and gold embossed my initial setting it behind the frames from the Renaissance set. I am really chuffed with this. I would be proud to use it.

SAF 2014 : 1980's Era with Lexi Daly - Passing notes

Great little gift card. Will come in very handy. Very straightforward videos from Lexi Daly. Quick and easy card to put together.

SAF 2014 : 1980's Era with Lexi Daly - Retro Rainbows

This photo was taken last week. Can you see the two rainbows. I was reminded to post it when I made the following card. It was a great challenge to make this card. The video was brilliant. I stopped, started and rewound a fair few times to get the hang of it.

SAF 2014 : 1960's Era with Erin Lincoln - Rad Ad Looks

I think this card has to be one of my favourites of the weekend. After all I am a sixties gal. It was so easy to do and yet it looks to complicated. Love it.

SAF 2014: 1960's Era with Erin Lincoln - Stencil Layers

My stamping is a little askew here. It was my second last card of the 21 I made this weekend. So I think I can be forgiven.  In spite of the messy stamping I still like how it turned out.

My workspace was not too bad this weekend. I generally tidied up after each card so the final tidy up was easy enough.  The beautiful roses in the centre were a gift from my darling hubby for my special weekend.

I was searching everywhere for one of the inks needed for this card. I was getting very tired. It took me ten minutes to find what was right under my nose.

SAF 2014: 1940's Era with Betsy Veldman - Card Corsage

I forgot to bring my florist wires so instead had to make do with garden wire. A lot thicker than Betsy's.
I'm afraid my little posie turned into a vase. I still think it looks cute. Is n't the card background just lovely. That stamp set, I just love it.

SAF 2014: Regency Era with Melissa Phillips- Needlepoint elegance

I used to do lots of cross stitching years ago. I guess I got pretty rusty ! It took me a while to complete the needlework for this card. I stayed up way too late watching tv and missing half of the stitches. I love this card though. Again it will be used for a special sister.

This morning we woke up to pretty miserable weather and some visitors !

Not too many herbs left after my four legged friends had a little nibble.

Seems like our lane is just the perfect place for a rest.

We cant see the view of the mountains today but our visitors make a nice change.

SAF 2014: Regency Era with Melissa Phillips - Antique Embossing

Sunday night very late. I had saved Melissa Phillips tutorials for Sunday evening. I wanted to just take my time and enjoy making these two cards.  In real life they are beautiful. This one will be sent to my sister who lives in Australia.

SAF 2014: Ancient Rome with Lizzie Jones - Mock Mosaic

I made a stencil with the die cut from this set and used Reeves modeling paste. Super easy technique. I love how it gives the arty texture to the card.

SAF 2014 : 1940's Era with Betsy Veldman- Vintage Patterns

How cool is this. Betsy Veldman gave a super tutorial on creating your own patterned paper. The lady is a genius. I even feel like a genius myself  today after recreating her sample. I just love, love, love it. I could happily live on deserted island with this stamp set, lots of PTI ink pads and cardstock.  Heaven !

1920's Era with Heather Nichols - Sparkle and Shine

Glitter, I normally try to avoid using. When I do use it I usually get it everywhere especially on my face.  It is a real tell tale sign of card making ! This time was no bother. I used Palette stamp and stick glitter from PTI. This card turned out. just great. I am not sure if the photo does it justice. It is beautiful in real life.

SAF 2014 1920's with Heather Nichols- Rhinestones

This was a great card to make. Not only did we get to make our own patterned paper we also learnt how to make a super cool embellishment using clear cardstock and rhinestones/ While I have a chest of drawers of ribbon in Dublin somehow or other I forgot  to bring  some with me for SAF. I improvised by using a piece of kraft cardstock and ran it through the big shot with a PTI embossing plate.

The card called for lots of small rhinestones. It only took a few seconds to upend the place  while I searched for just the right size and right colour !

Special word of thanks to |Heather Nichols for her super tutorials.

The Renaissance Era with Nichole Heady -Wax seals

This was a super challenge. I love how the wax seals worked with these stamps. How lucky am I to have my initial included in this stamp set.

Stamp a Faire dinner tonight laid out at the other end of the table. Even though I am sitting in the kitchen with the oven right beside me I burnt the lasagne. I was a little preoccupied with melting and stamping the lovely gold wax. No matter it tasted just lovely.

The Renaissance Era with Nichole Heady - Velvet Stamping

This was a great challenge. I love the finished look of this card. The three colours go so well together. I used an old stamp for the iron technique. I did n't want to take any chances with my PTI stamps ! I am getting a little tired now. Time for another tea break with a little chocolate to keep me going.

Ancient Rome with Lizzie Jones - Challenge 1

Time is flying by. I am one challenge behind but taking a break for lunch. I copied Lizzie Jones sample. I used modelling paste by Reeves. It had a sandy texture. It coloured brilliantly using a little ink from my craft ink pad. I loved this technique. Though it was a challenge in itself just to use the special edition paper in the kit. I normally just hoard those special papers !  Will definitely try it again.

SAF 2014 - Morning Timer Challenge

Good morning fellow stampers taking part in Stamp a Faire with Papertrey Ink. Just as I was about to hit the button at 7 am est for Stamp a Faire the phone rang. It was my Mum and Dad. How can you ask your parents if you can ring them back you have to go may a card ! I was laughing to myself at how just at the very minute I had been preparing for all week the phone rings.  Anyway the card above is my entry for the challenge using Filled with Joy stamp set , Happy Die , inks and cardstock from Papertrey ink  I have just been handed a cup of tea and a lovely piece of lemon drizzle cake from hubby before I get ready for the next challenge.

Friday night Meet and Greet Stamp a Faire 2014

Greetings from an Irish Stone Cottage in Co Louth, Ireland to all my crafting buddies around the world taking part in Stamp a Faire 2014. I broke open one of the new stamp sets Filled with Joy and stamped- lifted Heather Nichol's card , Betsy Veldman's card. and Maile Belle's card. I plan to make the remaining designer cards tomorrow morning. I took the top photo outside to the only free flat space left in the house. All crafting supplies are laid out in preparation for tomorrow. My hubby calls me the flat surface queen. The worktops are nice and tidy now but I can make a pretty good guess at how they will look tomorrow night after a fun filled day of stamping. A special hello to all at Papertrey Ink and a thank you  for making this possible.

Getting ready for Stamp a Faire with Papertrey Ink

This is my fourth year to participate in Stamp a Faire with Papertrey Ink  Today I am testing using my blog and uploading photos. It has been so long since I have done so I had almost forgotten how to.

The stamp set above Filled with Joy was included  in the kit for this year together with the lovely printed papers. The post today  on Nichole Heady's blog introduces this set with samples from Papertrey Ink's designers. I am planning on a little crafting time this afternoon using this set.

To get back in the groove with crafting  I made the above two cards yesterday with Papertrey Inks stamp sets and dies, Pedal Pusher and Love Birds.

Pop over to Papertrey Ink this weekend. It is free to participate with lots of prizes on offer. It promises to be a superb crafting weekend.
