It's my personal day

I love crafting but sometimes I get caught up in projects that I fail to make time to make "stuff" just for myself. I was inspired by a wonderful post on this site
http://michellewooderson.blogspot.com/2010/01/12-day-of-me.html
to make plans and set aside some time. To recharge the aul batteries. Last year I did this each month until June.  I did make time for myself in the past six months but I didn't sit down and plan it.  I think the planning makes it that little bit  more special. It says "YOU'RE WORTH IT"
So for the new year I will make a new planner and set aside one day a month. I'll keep you posted !
This was last year's planner.

I made some extra and I sold them at a Summer Fete for charity for 4 euro each . Customers loved them.  So thanks again Michelle Wooderson!

Valentine Treats

One of my absolute favourite blogs is http://michellewooderson.blogspot.com/
I check most days to see if Michelle has posted.  She is a wonderful creative lady and I have learnt so much from just studying how she creates an item. I never fail to be impressed by each and every posting. I have been lucky too to have ordered some bits and bobs from her etsy site.  She has nifty ideas at very reasonable prices and gives great service too.

Last year she posted this great idea  http://michellewooderson.blogspot.com/2010/01/heart-lollipop-envelope.html

I didn't have any of the stamps but I really wanted to make something similar for my young niece to give to  her school pals on Valentines Day. I played around with  microsoft word and came up with this.

Halloween Trick or Treats

I started fund raising early as times are difficult and many charities are experiencing great demands on their resources.
I came across this OH SO SIMPLE idea of sour cream containers  here http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/
and just had to try it. When I saw these wonderful papers    http://www.g45papers.com/category-s/50.htm  I knew they would be perfect.

I made  8 baskets full. For the last three I ran out of black ribbon for bows and used left over black netting fabric. I thought the  fabric was more successful. Sorry I don't have photos of net bows. I sold the baskets from 15 to 25 euro  each depending on size and the individual trick or treats for 2 euro each or 3 for 5 euro.

Christmas Mini Muffins

On Christmas Eve I made these Christmas mini muffins. I got the recipe from the BBC website but I giggled it a bit to suit my family. They were a real success. Only six of them managed to make it to the lovely cake box as a gift for my sister and her husband. The rest disappeared with cups of tea !

Please click on the recipe to make it easier to read.

I had to add this photo. It is a heart I made with some cranberries, raffia and wire. The bird looks like he is eyeing up the berries !

Advent Calendar Mini Muffin Tins

To boost my fund raising for charity this year I knew I needed some great low cost but high income generating items. Again Splitcoaststampers forum craft fair ideas helped me enormously. I found this wonderful idea on this site http://stampdoc.typepad.com/the_stamp_doc_blog/
So I set to work with my son. He is in Transition Year in secondary school and as part of his school year he was to give a week completing a project to help the the community.
He was an amazing help. We made 20 Advent Calendars and sold them for 25 euro each.
With each completed muffin tin we included a pack of sweets (24), a pack of mini muffin cases and 2 lovely cake boxes to package the muffins as christmas gifts.

Chocolate Snowmen

I made these little snowmen for a craft fair this Christmas. The supplies cost very little, approx 30 cent each and I sold them for 2 euro each. All funds raised were for charity and they sold out  within first hour. Must make note to make lots more for next year !

I had been following the craft fair ideas on splitcoaststampers forum and found  a link to Lauries site where she shares a download for the snowmen. http://lauriefurnell.blogspot.com/  They can also be used to wrap micro wave popcorn.  Customers loved them as christmas stocking fillers.  SO CUTE !

A BIG HELLO

Welcome to a little home for all my craft projects. I started paper crafting about four years ago and am having a brilliant time learning new techniques, meeting new crafting pals at classes, crops, craft fairs and on craft forums.  No stress involved. How could you get stressed about cutting up pieces of lovely paper and sticking it all back together again. LOL.
