All things bright and beautiful

I really enjoyed working with the patterned paper from Cosmo Crickets Salt Air Mini Deck. The little butterflies were from their butterflies and doilies pack. I had to restrain myself from adding one of their lovely buttons too. Such lovely colours. Perfect for this time of year as we jump from Spring into Summer.

And on the inside......
One of my must visit sites is http://apassionforpapertrey.blogspot.com/
Last week this was posted. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-y9-nlvJJ_gg/Tawbu1pbGZI/AAAAAAAACuM/wKl5hgZeg6w/s1600/shobana.jpg
I had to try it out.
Here is the link to Shobana's site http://timepasshobbies.wordpress.com/2011/04/11/my-first-pop-up-card/
and here is the link to the video tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUGrIop_pwo&NR=1
I used patterned paper for the above. It really is a little too heavy paper for this pop up. I made it work as I just had to use 'Salt Air' on this card.
Also to practise I cut the flowers originally with plain paper just as in the video but for the flowers here I used my  little slice machine to cut out seven  'eight petal flowers' and proceeded on as in the video
Try it and enjoy. Happy Easter.

Trick or Treats

A few photos posted today for a lady preparing for a fair in October.  Thanks to a crafty pal I have these photos to show. It was a fund raising event for a lovely talented young lady in the crafting community in Ireland in October 2009. I decided to just jump in, volunteer and participate. It was a worthy cause and made great use of my paper crafting hobby and stash. I had great fun and all items were very easy to make.

The coffins I downloaded from this site :
http://www.marthastewart.com/article/coffin-treat-box   I printed them on Kraft card stock, cut, stuck, filled with goodies, tied up with black string and embellished with cheap peel off stickers. The topper were just stamped and matted. I think the stamps were from Papertrey ink.

These cute gift boxes I downloaded the template from
http://www.papertreyink.com/mtt_foldngo_webview.html
I used some cheap papers from a Halloween party invitation pack to embellish and added the shaky eyes.

This Halloween prop looked good.  I am not sure if you can make out in this photo the little paper pumpkins. I got this idea and instructions from here
http://www.marthastewart.com/photogallery/halloween-treat-bags-and-favors
I made some witches brooms see above link but they must have sold before the photo was taken.

The goody bags to the left of the picture were simply cello bags filled with goodies, with long strips of black cardstock wrapped around them, stapled and then embellished with cheap patterned paper, a stamped and matted topper and some cheap peel off stickers.
The props were great. They made an otherwise simple white tablecloth table a bit more dramatic and inviting.

Make it Monday challenge with Papertrey ink

First time to enter this challenge. Of course it is with Papertrey ink ! I have used Papertrey ink Ripe Avocado ink, card stock and their trademark stamps to make the little label. The patterned paper is from Waiting for Santa by Webster's pages, ribbon and flower from stash. I heat embossed the pattern on the card stock. First time to try this technique. The videos on Make it Monday are super tutorials.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all my visitors today. I am a very blessed mum to two very wonderful  young men and an equally blessed daughter to a 'Mum in a million'. I treasure my husband also today for the gift of my two sons and also my dad who fills my heart with love and pride.

Today I am sharing with you a card  I made especially for 'My Mum'.  I used the beautiful papers from Waiting for Santa from Webster's Pages. The card I designed myself and the inspiration for the gift bag/ envelope I got from Michelle Wooderson from the Mish Mash site. I so loved making this card I almost wanted to keep it !
