"Closing Ceremony"

Well all good things must come to an end. I have had a brilliant weekend, crafting along with all the Papertrey Ink customers and fans. Many, many thanks to Nichole and her wonderful design team for providing us with a superb and amazing weekend of fun, talent and creativity. A special thank you to all her helpers behind the scenes who have made sure the weekend went so well. Papertrey Ink a superb company to follow ! They are an inspiration.

"Rolled Dough Designs"

This was my first time to use creative paperclay. It was a cinch to use. Without a doubt I will definitely be making more of these. I followed Jessica Witty's tutorial. Now I have to leave it to dry before I finish by painting and glazing it.

" Gallon: Quart: Pint Colour Challenge"

A very straight forward challenge from  Betsy Veldmon .  I plan on using this technique more often.
Stamps from Pretty Peonies and card stock all from Papertrey Ink.

"Limited Ingredients Challenge"

The Limited Ingredients challenge was fun. I dithered a bit about which stamp set to use. Given the day it was I just had to use Papertrey Ink's Reasons to Smile.

The first photo was for the challenge. The second I added a new stamped and embossed sentiment with a little extra embellishment. This handmade flower I got in a recent swap on the PTI forum from 'Uncbballfan'.

"Custom Accents from the Oven"

I used clear shrink plastic to create the tree embellishments. I used the stamp and die from Papertrey Ink's Believe and the sentiment from Happiest of Holidays. Card stock is Papertrey Ink.

"Sweet Sugar Coated Embellishments"

This challenge was a quick and easy one, once I got over not wanting to use glitter. No matter what I do I find it gets everywhere. A real tell tale sign that some one's been making cards !  I kept it simple. Candy cane stamp and die from Papertrey Ink Candy Cane Christmas and sentiment from Papertrey Ink Happiest of Holidays. Bakers twine and cardstock Papertrey Ink.

"Whipping Up Scent-sational Cards"

This was my favourite challenge. I cased Nichole Heady's  simple and stylish card and used the gingerbread man and sentiment from Scent-Imentals. This is a great versatile set. Love it. Somehow among the car full of supplies I forgot the ginger spice. I swapped it for the pumkin one instead. It worked fine.

Sprinkle of salt

I enjoyed this technique. Now that I have got the hang of it, I will definitely try this again.

I was getting tired and needed a little sugar kick. I used my heat embossing gun to caramelise my crème brulee ! After is cooled down it was delicious.

Mixing mists to match

I followed Danielle Flander's instructions for the above card. I am pleased with how it turned out. Though I skipped on the sewing ! I'm in too much of a rush to complete as many tasks as possible tonight.

Tea Staining Techniques

2nd challenge done. Technically mine  is coffee staining. I used Erin Lincoln's  beautiful card as my inspiration. There were many styles offered. I hope to try the muslin and felt staining later.

Breakfast Bake and Take

Edited to add challenge.
First challenge completed. I used Colour recipe no 2 and sketch recipe no 2.
That was good fun !

Good morning stampers.  A little creative use of the lovely envelope my die order came in.

I swear I didn't paint the order to match the Stamp-a-faire colours !

Really I didn't !

 Kitchen all set and ready.

Many thanks to Heather from Papertrey Ink forum for taking care of my grocery shop and mailing it to me. x0x0x0x

For the Bake and Take I skipped the BAKE and went to TAKE . A quick visit to the local country market for some fresh bread and scones.

Stamp-a-faire Friday Night Meet & Greet

Today there was lots to do with my last minute preparations for Stamp-a-faire with Papertrey Ink.
I packed the car, got some last minute food shopping and it was off to the country. It was a lovely Irish Day, wet and misty. The countryside looked lovely, fresh and green. In no time I was there.

Some photos to show my preparations this week.

The Postman arrives with some last minute supplies from Papertrey Ink in preparation for Stamp-a-faire 2013.

Heavy package on the doorstep.

Car gets packed,

and packed,

I arrive to our little piece of paradise.

Every corner pulls at my heart strings.

No change to sit down and enjoy the view the car needs to be unpacked.

My beautiful tidy kitchen,

for now.

That's all about to change tomorrow.

Do I really think I will use all this stuff. How many cards am I making !

The essentials.

SEE YOU ALL TOMORROW !

Stamp-a-Faire 2013 Recipe Remix

My 18year old son asked me to make some thank you cards for his teachers before he finished school this summer. I was chuffed but knew I had to get this right.  He was specific with his request. NO glitter or bling ! I kept it plain and simple and used the school's colours.

I am submitting it to Papertrey Ink's Stamp-a-Faire  recipe remix challenge. Fingers crossed it will get picked so that one of the design team will add their special finish.

The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Iconic Images stamp set Stamp-a-Faire 2011 using Papertrey Ink enchanted evening and heat embossed.
Cardstock is Papertrey Ink  enchanted evening and spring rain.
The background stamp is from Polka Dot Basics and is stamped using enchanted evening ink.

The car is packed and I am off to the country tomorrow to craft with Papertrey Ink's Stamp-a-Faire 2013 online event which is free for all participants. Looking forward to a brilliant weekend.
Why not join in too. You can find all the details here
